French Polynesia
We hope you can gain some helpful information from our 21-day trip to French Polynesia.
For perspective, this trip was done throughout January 2022. This is summer in French Polynesia.
This guide will cover the five islands we visited.
Tahiti, Mo’orea, Huahine, Bora Bora, Rangiroa.
✈️Flights✈️
Getting to Tahiti and around the various islands was a breeze. We highly recommend Air Tahiti Nui for your flight to the islands.
Air Tahiti was amazing for inter-island travel and they offer many flight packages that include multiple islands. We did a 5 island hopper pass. These are smaller planes so keep this in mind when packing and if you have a fear of smaller aircraft.
Mo’orea
Keep Scrolling for info about the Island of Mo’orea
Intro-
Mo’orea was likely our favorite island. Once you get to the islands you quickly orient to the fact that the prettiest views on Tahiti are the ones that have Mo’orea in the distance.
Mo’orea is a quick ferry ride away or an even shorter flight. Fun Fact you can actually rent a car on Tahiti and take the Ferry and your car rental onto Mo’orea.
🚗Getting Around-🚗
You do not “need” a rental car on Moorea. Getting around the entire island ring road takes an hour by car and many accommodations have bicycles for use.
Buttt… it does make getting to activities and different sites alot easier. This will allow you to see more of the island, with less time.
The renal car was not that costly. We booked our car through Avis, yup thats right Avis! Click the Link if you’d like to book a car.
*Also if you have a rental car discount through AVIS they do accept these there. Our car was less than $200 for our stay on Mo’orea.
🏨Accomodations-🏨
Mo’orea has many options for accommodations from AirBNBs to countless hotels.
Throughout our trip, this was the location with some of the most beautiful overwater bungalows and the most cost-effective of all the islands so we decided this was the island we would splurge on an overwater bungalow. Boy are we happy we did.
We stayed at The Hilton Mo’orea
